Catching up - Part 2

January 15th I ran a 10k in the Riverfront Race Festival in North Charleston. Ricky ran the 5k. It was COLD that morning. I think it was something like 25 degrees at the starting line. So needless to say we were both less than excited to run but we paid the money we ran! I wanted to run it in 52:30, I had previously ran that time on the treadmill earlier in the week, but the cold and my legs were not agreeing (my legs felt numb from mile 1 - 3). Then it got a little better and I ran the last 1/2 mile faster. My final time was 54:39 and I won first place for my age group! Which shocked the crap out of me because I didn't really think I was that fast - which really isn't THAT fast compared to what some women can run a 10k in. But hey, I'll take it. Next race isn't till March. I have no time in February to run anything so it'll be the Flowertown Festival Run March 12th, a 10k.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, January was the month of sickness for poor Sophie. RSV and an ear infection was no fun but she kicked it quick and was pretty good for the most part. 

This past weekend my sister and nephews came to visit, hadn't seen them since middle of December so I was very excited to see them. Garrett is almost as tall as I am and Sean is taking steps! So both boys have grown so much just in the last month.

We decided to go to the Children's Museum downtown Charleston for the afternoon. It's really neat inside and the kids had fun. Sophie gets along so great with Garrett and Sean, which is even better since we don't see them as much as we'd like to. I'm just glad she knows who they are and remembers them. Wish we lived closer. I miss hanging out with my family and just getting together on a random weekend, or going out to dinner for no reason at all. I miss being in Charlotte, I really do.
