A Rough Week

I've been slacking on my blog but I have a good reason. I've had a nasty cold this past week and have felt rotten until just a few days ago.

Sophie is 11 weeks old! Can you believe it? She's getting so big and is pretty happy baby (most days).

I have some pictures to post and will get those up very soon!

Changes

I know, I've changed my blog yet again. But every time I do this, it's to apply something I'm trying to learn. Previously I added a header. I'm trying to learn the program GIMP. This time I edited the html to remove the borders around my header and pictures. Next, I'm going to attempt to create my own header and possibly add some cool font. We'll see how this goes......

9 Weeks Old

Sophie is 9 weeks old! Let's see, updates: I am trying to transition her to some formula. Sadly, with me being back at work my milk supply is slowly diminishing. So she still gets some breast milk through out the day, I mix formula and breast milk together and then nurse her at night (and in the middle of the night). Seems to be working out but I can say that she is not too fond of formula. So while I am still able to produce, I will continue mixing the two until I dry up.

Here are a few pictures of my munchkin butt :)

Artist In Training

Last week at daycare, Sophie's teachers did a project where they made bugs out of their fingerprints. They've been hanging on the wall outside the nursery and today we got to bring it home. She's taking after her mom :)

2 Months Old

Sophie is 2 months old today and had her 2 month check up this afternoon. She weighs 10 pounds and is 23 1/2 inches long and in the 75th percentile for her height. I was thinking maybe 8 pounds or so, but was surprised (and happy) to see that she was 10 pounds and 6 ounces. Way to go girl! Good to see that I'm doing something right.
She took her shots like a big girl. The first one, not so bad. The next two....let's just say it was a delayed reaction. First the silent scream and then the big one. She recovered very well and even took a bottle afterward. When we got home she wasn't overly fussy and now she's sacked out. Very happy that it went well. She goes back at 4 months for her next round of shots. My little girl is getting big and we are both just amazed on her milestones. Her hands are still the coolest thing right now, she smiles, gurgles, can hold her head up very well. We do some tummy time daily and she likes it for about a minute and then she's over it. Will post some pictures soon!

Autumn Pasta Salad

I found this delicious pasta salad recipe (in the Vera Bradley Fall Catalog of all places). I made it yesterday and just ate it for lunch and it was so yummy.

1 16oz.box of tubular pasta (I used whole wheat penne pasta for some added nutritional value)
1 bunch of spinach, cleaned, torn into bite size pieces.
1 red onion, diced
2 large tomatoes, diced
2 cucumbers, peeled, seeded, and diced
1 can olives, sliced, drained
16 oz. pkg. feta cheese, crumbled
1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
3/4 cup olive oil
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
2 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
1 Tbsp. Parmesan Cheese
Salt and pepper to taste

Cook pasta according to package, drain. In a large bowl combine pasta, spinach, onion, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, feta cheese, and parmesan cheese. Mix well.
In a small bowl, whisk olive oil, vinegar, mustard, and parmesan cheese. Pour vinaigrette over pasta salad and mix well. Add salt and pepper.
Make a day in advance to allow flavors to blend.

Enjoy!

New and Improved

Welcome to the new Bell Blog. After hours upon hours of trying to "design" one myself with a fussy baby, I found a blog that has templates already made. I decided to download one from there because I just don't have the time to sit at my computer for all hours of the day. Plus, in order to design templates and add cool things, you need software. So there's 2 things I'm lacking.

I'm done changing my blog....for now. I'm still going to try my hand at some things once I have time so if you see something new or something weird, that's just me playing around. So I hope you enjoy the new blog.

Under Construction

Please bear with me as I am updating my blog. I'm trying my hand at a few things so it may look funky for a while.
Check back soon for my new look and updated photos of Sophie (she's 8 weeks old today!).

Berry Sweet

My goober girl

Sweet smile!

No more pictures Mom!!

Today I put one of Sophie's smoked outfits on (she's finally starting to fit into them) and she looked so cute I just had to take some pictures. PS - Amy, you know how we got Sophie to smile? Lucky Lulu. She loves to look at Lucky Lulu. For those of you who don't know who Lucky Lulu is, she's a frog that Garrett picked out for Sophie at Build a Bear. He named her and everything.

Just a quick update: I've gone back to work this past week and Sophie has started daycare. We are both starting to adjust, although it was much harder for me than it was for her. The daycare ladies love Sophie and say that she is such a good baby.
